Design Director and founder Greg Elliott brings 40 years of yacht design excellence, expertise and a lifetime of passion for the sea and sailing with him in his approach to every design. Countless successful international yacht racing campaigns and a proven global track record as a race winning ocean skipper and active cruising helmsman Elliott works alongside every client to understand their needs. From overseeing the design brief, estimate and costs right through to sea trials Elliott works with you in ensuring you a unique custom designed and built racing or cruising yacht that is on budget and delivered on time.
Our design team focus collaboratively on every project; combining extensive knowledge and skill sets from backgrounds in naval architecture, composite engineering, boat building, analysis & optimisation and sailing. Rigorous model testing and on going in-house R&D are combined with the utilisation of the latest technology, equipment and materials. The result is excellence in yacht design.

Elliott Marine Limited is New Zealand owned and operated. We are passionate about innovative yacht design and strive for effective methods to make yachts more efficient, sustainable and sail faster. We offer our clients the opportunity to get the best out of their yachts and in so doing their budget. We are not able to showcase here, everything that is currently on the drawing board as new project details are sensitive to client privilege . We are innovators and leaders both by design and on the water. One of our greatest pleasures is inspiring Kiwis and young sailors all over the world to sail. Greg Elliott is passionate about being involved with youth sailors and works closely with numerous Yacht Club Youth Development and Keelboat Programmes throughout the world.
In 1987 The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron recognised they didn’t have enough crew to compete in the America’s Cup. A fleet of futuristic Elliott 5.9’s were chosen for the Youth Keelboat Programme as a result of a rigorous selection process. Since then The RNZYS has held the America’s Cup from 1995 to 2003 becoming in 2000 the first non-American holder to successfully defend the trophy. Evolving designs continuously for the Youth Programme, Elliott 7’s are used today and the programme is a breeding ground for contenders in the Volvo Ocean Race, America's Cup and World Match Racing Circuit. Elliott yachts are also proudly used in youth and keel boat programmes at more than 20 Clubs throughout the world such as the prestigious programmes at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia , Royal Yachting Association, Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron, and the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club.
