Greg Elliott is one of New Zealand’s most prolific yacht designers with a wide variety of boats on the water throughout the world. With more than 35 years experience in both design and offshore racing and cruising Elliott brings a practical, straight forward philosophy to his work.  Elliott consistently brakes new ground in design and his yachts frequently achieve outstanding race results. He has a reputation in both the racing and cruising world for his successful innovation and ability to provide a product superior to client expectations. More recent designs include: Maximus 100ft Maxi - winner Trans Atlantic Race and Fastnet Race; member Design Team Mari Cha 1V - Current holder of Trans Atlantic Record; Outsider - Winner of the 2007 Trans Atlantic Newport to Hamburg Race; the Elliott Tourer range of pilothouse cruising yachts.

Established in 1989 EBD Ltd has earned an international reputation for producing innovative, successful racing yachts and performance cruisers that are safe, easily handled and cross oceans quickly. The company prides itself in the ability to create state of the art race yachts that allow little compromise in the quest for speed and cruising yachts that retain performance as a high priority whilst still providing the client with a home on the water.


EBD staff collaborate on projects combining knowledge and skills from their backgrounds in naval architecture, engineering, boat building, computer science and a passion for sailing. These skills are combined with the latest advances in technology to produce designs where all components are integrated to create the final product.
